Dictate into any app on your iPhone - Messages, Notes, Mail, and more - with the new Voicenotes keyboard. We're rolling it out to early users ahead of the public launch. Grab the build below, then follow the quick 1-minute setup.

iOS only · tap Install in TestFlight

This is an early build. The keyboard is working - in-app onboarding, settings sync, and a few polish touches are landing in the next updates. You're getting it first.

Step 1: Enable the Voicenotes keyboard

Open the Settings app on your iPhone and walk through this path:

  1. Scroll to the bottom and tap Apps.
  2. Find Voicenotes in the list (under V).
  3. Tap Keyboards.
  4. Toggle on Voicenotes.
  5. Toggle on Allow Full Access - tap Allow on the popup.

Step 2: Switch to the keyboard, tap the mic

Open any app where you can type - Messages, Notes, Mail, and more" to stay consistent with the lede.

  1. Tap the globe icon 🌐 at the bottom-left of the keyboard. Keep tapping until you see the Voicenotes keyboard.
  2. Tap the mic button on the right side, and start speaking. Words appear in the text field as you go.

You're set.

Dictation now works system-wide on your iPhone. Open any app, tap the mic, and start talking.
